It does have to die for its ability to trigger, and that means you can use it as sacrifice fodder
Itd be easy to overlook this card as not being a proper board wipe, but if you combine it with a few defensive creatures, or even a way of dealing one damage to everything, youve got a very potent spell
On the flipside, using this card to strip hands in the developing stages of the game is much more problematic, and can cause the kind of stalemates and draw-pass gameplay that can lead to players checking out emotionally, if not literally
