From Elder Giants to Giant Pirates, 2020 saw plenty of exciting, new Magic cards
I wonder how this plays out when I compare it to the Black Lotus for the masses, Gilded Lotus (5 Tap: Add three mana of any one color to your mana pool.) This is hard to setup: you need to spend four mana to equip a creature, then the creature needs to deal damage mid game to your opponent-which means that an unblockable or Trample creature will do the trick best
Unsanctioned includes 160 Magic cards, including 10 full-art basic land cards5 foil and 5 non-foil with gorgeous illustrations, printed here for the first time
That top tier is Ancient Grudge, which can singlehandedly ruin Affinity and Lantern Controls day, even through disruptive elements like Thoughtseize removing it from hand
But where they do need a lot of help is getting to the point of the game where those threats are castable whether through ramp, or just putting on pressure and defending yourself with low-mana creatures
