It lets you attack a player who has protection from The One Ring, which can be crucial given how many decks run that card
Some players also use blank proxy cards or dry-erase sleeves so they can reuse them for different tokens
Though this does mean discarding the other cards you reveal, there are numerous ways this can pay off, especially as youre going to play a card thatd normally cost up to 6 Ink for absolutely nothing (well, except the cost of losing the other three cards you draw, of course!)
