Theyre artifacts matter commanders, but while [casthaven]Pia and Kiran Nalaar[/casthaven] offers straight-forward damage underpinning its sacrificial effect, [casthaven]Pia Nalaar[/casthaven] alone has a slightly different power
Though her stats arent the best overall, with 1 Strength, 5 Willpower and 2 Lore, her ablitiies linked to Singing and Lore bonuses that can increase the effectiveness of other characters in play really make this a strong combo card
But with the cost-related quirkiness of its basic design, its ultimate playability level can be a bit hard to predict unless we see it in actual play in more diverse MTG formats

You can basically turn it into a removal card, or even use something like Witchs Cauldron to sacrifice that creature and then draw a card and gain a life
Such is reality when you have a mechanic without a direct precedent, and the introduction of Vehicles as well as energy sets up Kaladesh to be even harder to evaluate than Eldritch Moon
