Bane of Progress saw its first printing in Commander 2013 and has since become a staple in green decks

Perhaps it's a way to represent levelled-up magic, like the Thunder-Thundara-Thundaga progression that black mages use

The biggest weakness Ive experienced when building a lifegain deck is being a sitting duck when youre not gaining life

As always, Ill include key cards to include if you want to build any of these commanders

In regards to DnD I would have loved this aura to lose some toughness per damage taken to be more in line with the actual spell in the game (and to give it a chance in draft/sealed to be removed by swinging into it rather than having to wait for someone to remove the actual aura or creature)

Thanks to the read ahead mechanic, this can (at worst) do any one of these immediately upon entry
