What I do like about cards like Ponder and Preordain is that they allow you to play fewer lands, which means youll flood out less
When played to their corresponding Pokmon, the cards are oriented horizontally - covering the previous cards artwork and HP, but not its attacks, abilities and other traits left visible, which remain available and in play

Its certainly not a play pattern that interests me, but there are a fair number of folks who enjoy it, so I figured its worth mentioning
One, it made it clear who you could and couldn't use the enchantment on, and two, it allowed you to use a Flight effect (something that grants a creature flying) to break them free from the enchantment (if the creature gains flying, the aura falls off as it can only enchant a creature without flying)
Many of your dorks are small utility dorks or smaller flying dorks both of which do a lot more for you when slightly bigger
