There are several types of mechanics present in the boxed precon, and if you end up drawing too little pieces of one of the things its trying to do, it might seem like youre not doing a whole lot other than tapping out and hoping to hit your opponent

Survivors can play by picking up the first Watch Watch with Gathering Supplies and using it continuously, and linking Don't Lose Faith in the same way to insert a blessing token and then maintaining it with Holy Covenant (2) and Nephthys (4) to support the blessing
If you liked the ideas of the Gadgets but didnt want to pair that with the Machina, might I suggest taking a look at building other Gadget variants such as Gadget-Cubics or Gadget-Kaiju they each build upon old ideas of how to best use the Gadget monsters, bringing them into the modern era with a bit of love
