Squadron Hawk has not seen any play in decks that dont just want to give it a Sword, but Soul Sisters is definitely in the market for the set of skills that the Hawks bring: extra cards in hand, extra creatures to cast, and evasion to get a few points of damage through
Breena, the Demagogue is one such card that often needs ironing out: Whenever a player attacks one of your opponents, if that opponent has more life than another of your opponents, that attacking player draws a card and you put two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control. Like the goad mechanic, this card encourages the other players at the table to attack between themselves and discourages them from attacking you
You won't get him to 8/8 very often but a handy target for early game removal which means that they are using removal on a creature that isn't too important to the aim of the deck

Im personally thinking of a Modern Infect storm build that made the rounds a while ago, playing off of tutoring up Venerated Rotpriests to the field as quickly as possible and then hitting them with as many Ground Rifts as possible
Spend them on attacks that actually matter
