Unless a card specifically references changing the base power, the creatures base power and toughness cannot change
Removal Spells Magic 's creatures seem to grow tougher and tougher, but there's less power creep in its removal spells
Whenever you get to play this card you can get to do something fun with it, and in the BAE, it acts as both ramp, removal, draw, and a wildcard, given it can copy an opponents creature for the turn
It means youve got to be a little more savvy when building your MTG deck, and either include cards you want in the graveyard or be able to decide on the spot what youre not going to need
For example, at the beginning of my upkeep, I can put a charge counter on [c]Aether Vial[/c]
any 1/1 creature that enters and connects with this in play deals 3 damage instead of 1, which sounds like pretty good math in my book
