Over the years, Magic: The Gathering has had odd periods of trying something out, then tapering it off for a few expansions when they find out that the new thing isn't working or that players simply hate it
Not only that, but the Universes Beyond: Assassins Creed set is also launching with an entirely new type of booster
If you need a critical card then paying five to get it back asap is beyond awful
For instance, had I pre-ordered a Wrenn and Realmbreaker, it would have cost me about $40, not the $16 I paid when it came out
Cards which do take a little extra work or lateral thinking to make good, which thrive on sneaky alternate uses or unusual interactions and combos
So, my preschooler and I agreed that we could let our less-loved cards go to new homes
