Also you could argue that first edition only made sense early on in the games life, when how rare/special a card is was unclear to new buyers

Faithless Looting also pairs well with Reanimation strategies

We had God-Pharaohs Gift, The Scarab God, and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria bringing up the rear

Master Ball lets you fetch any Pokemon you need without the cost of discarding cards

Of course, you need to focus on getting lots of other things like removal, and repeatable card draw like Teferis Protege, but its a fun deck to pilot

I agree that its something that could truly benefit from being documented thoroughly, and youd be doing the community a huge service
