First, can we talk about how badass this art by Magali Villeneuve is

If some other effect gives you permission to cast Boltfire from exile, such as if you exiled it with Dark-Dweller Oracle, you may cast Boltfire using either permission

Since this is a card game, the sense of urgency is just not the same as if the monsters and magic were actually there

Because of this, Im not thrilled with this choice as the leader for a beginner deck

Many of them directly affect the board in the manner of premier spells: Spark Double, Pyroclasm, Zombify, even Serra Angel

Both iterations are really neat (and beautiful) and I think its interesting to see how people brew and tune their decks throughout Spice Paradise
