The buff Don Andres gives to stolen creatures as well as the Treasure tokens he generates when you cast noncreature spells that don't belong to you are nice, but they're far from enough to make stealing cards worthwhile (especially because the treasures enter tapped)
Splice Splice, from Champions of Kamigawa block, is similar to buyback in that the choice is about getting to cast the spell again
Of course, youll probably want to put this card in Selesnya +1/+1 counter / proliferate decks to grow the Hangarback faster
Discarding your own cards to go +1 on experience counters is not nearly good enough, so you need to surround this firebender with symmetrical discard
Reap the Past could be an interesting sideboard option for Jund decks, whether exotic, like the above, or more traditional
Due to the supreme scarcity of this card and the fact that its artwork has never been reprinted in any format, its no surprise this card is worth close to $70 on the secondary market
