I love the acronym S.N.E.A.K

No power, no free spells, no mana rocks, removal a step below the best (removal should be able answer threats with MV+1, broadly speaking), no easy auto includes on power level (Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, Palantir of Orthanc, ...)

The downside is that there are hardly any combos that you can execute with it, as neither the creatures nor enchantments you have in play will likely make this better or worse

Ephemerate is obviously the better of the two in a traditional sense, giving you multiple effects when you cast it and doing the job intended

So theres no reason why you cant pick up a few and see what colour mechanics you prefer the most
