Dan is a great comedic relief companion, and this is one of his best moments, so I love that they decided to make the card all about that moment

Its tempting, and honestly probably optimal to lean into extra turn spells with Alania, Divergent Storm

It will likely have a lot of non-creature spells with a mana cost of three or more and some ways to deal direct damage to enemy players
