Cathars' Crusade rewards you for playing lots of tokens, while Thatcher Revolt creates them with haste
Also, at a base of 2/3, its power is also low enough to be mentored by a stronger creature which, on the stack, will pump its power and allow it to mentor stronger creatures as well
I don't personally have much use for it (again, I play mono blue), but this card can easily make the difference across the board
The tokens often feel rather cumbersome with so little focus on coven, despite the name, and are generally best replaced with other things, while other cards can probably just come out entirely
Examples include mana dorks, mana rocks, and spells which allow you to put extra lands into play beyond the one-per-turn limit. The right ramp for you will depend entirely on your deck
