Artists were selected on their capacity to deliver on one or all of the four parameters I set for the sets visual direction: Epic (scale and scope), Legendary (attention to lore), Storytelling (attention to characters and their relationships), Pastoral (what our heroes are fighting to protect)
Normally for a 4-drop I'd take a second turn to ramp with rocks like Golgari Signet and Rampant Growths and then drop it on the third turn, but here I may want to spend that turn casting Agent

I like how uncomfortable-looking the creature looks as it's trapped in the box-like frame of the card, and it's eating and chomping on the text box of his own card
The chosen creature remains your Ring-bearer until it leaves the battlefield for any reason, another player gains control of it, or you choose a different creature when you are next tempted by the Ring
