The ability to cast your removal spell as a 2/3 lifelink body is decent in other decks, but here it means we can play some hard removal spells and still have a very high density of permanents that contribute to devotion
While two-color builds can use it, youll get maximum value from commanders with diverse mana requirements like five-color strategies
The best part is that it cant be normally blocked (like, who plays shadow?), so without targeted removal or a sweeper, its getting in there and staying around to buff another day
Dragons of Tarkir gave us five newcomers (Dragonlord Silumgar, Dragonlord Atarka, etc.), Core Set 2019 gave us retrains of the originals (Arcades, the Strategist, Nicol Bolas, the Ravager), Strixhaven added five more as the namesakes of the different schools (Tanazir Quandrix, Beledros Witherbloom, etc.), and the five metal dragons from Baldur's Gate were also given the double creature type (Ancient Bronze Dragon, Ancient Copper Dragon, etc.)
However, it's not competitive with most of the other starter decks and it doesn't seem to have any important meta staples that will make this deck worth picking up for the sake of your collection
