That should be happening a lot if youre using all of the cards weve mentioned so far

if you have a creature with Expend 4 and trigger it by spending your 4th mana in a turn, you wont trigger it again when you spend your 8th

Akroma, Angel of Wrath Eight mana in white these days gets you Zetalpa, Primal Dawn or some very strong threat like Wakening Sun's Avatar

Attune with Aether is one of the cards that works with Deeproot Champion that wouldnt have worked with Quirion Dryad, but more importantly, Chart a Course is legal, and cheap burn is much appreciated at the moment
