My Grandmother’s Strength Paint it Yourself Gimme a shout for aMy Grandmother's Strength", arose from a re occurring dream I had, during the first isolation we had here in 2020. The thoughts provoked were deep and prolonged. So much so, that it became the conceptual focus of my painting for the "Reflections" exhibition at our local art gallery. The imagery in the painting is my Kui (Grandmother) holding a kete (a woven basket for collecting Tuatua small clams), ready to wade into the deep water on a stormy day.
