Each gaiwan is coloured by the ash of wood after a complicated process of wood firing in the kiln, featuring a complex surface made up of shades of grey, green and brown, textured by the white drips. The interplay of glossy and matte effects over the surface makes each gaiwan an appearance of the milky way, giving visual and textural contrast, stylish and unique.
