They are used for threading rods, bolts, and studs, either by hand using a die stock, or by machine using a floating die holder. They also can be used to cut smaller or larger, than factory setting, by utilising the adjusting screws in the die holder. Dies are manufactured with a thread chamfer to aid starting. M2 HSS material
