Micil Earls Island Pot Still Whiskey 1000ml Compass Box decided to findA fruity, spicy single pot still Irish whiskey from Micil, Earls Island was initially matured in ex bourbon casks, before being matured in a combination of French oak Bordeaux wine casks and American white oak ex peated whiskey quarter casks. The palate offers notes of boiled sweets, apple drops, maraschino cherry, tart redcurrants and rhubarb, baked up by heaps of spice, with cinnamon, nutmeg, marzipan and toasted hazelnuts that linger in the finish.
