With claret red appliquéd silk velvet crosses and central motif with star bursts which have been and studded with glass ‘jewels’

A wonderful embroidered traditional folk costume apron from Hungary and dating from around 1900 1910. The apron is in an olive green silk which contrasts beautifully with the colourful silk embroidery and would have been worn with a decorative blouse and skirt as part of the traditional costume if the region. The apron has been smocked and is gathered into a decorative waistband and fastens with red cotton toes at the back. These
