- Teppai (Bamboo Raft) - Butterfly Still mounted to the topThe remarkable small format woodblock print " Teppai" (Bamboo Raft) is by Toraji Ishikawa (18751964) and was printed in Taish 7 (1918). Around 19171918, Ishikawa traveled to Taiwan, where he created a number of works depicting its harbors, boats, and everyday waterfront life. This print portrays a teppai, a traditional Taiwanese raft made by lashing together the trunks of large bamboo. Commonly used for fishing and transportation, these distinctive
