I find this styling trick works best when a monochromatic color scheme is broken up by the lace dress or skirt, and when the lace hem isnt completely straight

Unless you know the ceremony will take place on hard ground thats navigable in shinny heels, stick to block-heel or wedge styles that are easy to walk in (think: espadrilles, loafers, ballet flats)
