Although the topic is thorny, I must admit the phrase is punchy and I find myself these days thinking you can just play things

Lumbering Lightshield, for instance, makes a random spell cost 1 colorless mana more to cast no matter where it is, even if it ends up in the Graveyard

The situational nature of this card makes it harder to include but I have typically been impressed with it when I do see it

Even without impending this is a bomb, so the fact that you can get the 4 damage even earlier when you need to is incredible

Setting up entire combos around creatures leaving and re-entering might sound a bit pointless until you remember the myriad enter the battlefield (ETB) triggers found in a huge number of creatures

Thanks to this, its well worth knowing the most expensive cards that this set has to offer
