Both offer two versions of a spell based on how much mana you spend, but they operate differently: Because Kicker is additive, it stacks with other costs ( like Flashback or Cascade )

when youre building decks, you can choose whichever basic lands are your favorite, or perhaps tied to the decks theme

However, if we use it with energy, it doubles our Aetherstorm Roc, doubles our Decoction Module, and potentially even doubles our Panharmonicon (when its doubling an energy card)
