The Slivers in this deck can deal infinite direct damage, gain infinite life, deal infinite poison, draw every card in my deck, destroy every other permanent on the board, all while being uncounterable, immune to all removal, and at instant speed While the infinite combo is pretty cute, it isnt necessary to go infinite to actually win the game, and there are lots of other ways to go off without going infinite
Not only is a 3/5 with double strike really beefy to start out with, but it pays you off by drawing you cards just for making tokens and even has a built-in ability to make tokens by itself
Remember that Standard sets rotate in and out, and sometimes there arent enough, or rather there arent enough complimentary cards to build an indestructible deck
When you expect the game to be decided before you play all your cards like in many aggro decks and gambling with your worst card is worth it to try and upgrade your options
